On 4th June, key representatives from Edinburgh's development community met in the city's MacDonald Holyrood Hotel to consider how the development process in Edinburgh could be improved. Building on the momentum created by the Planning Act (Scotland) 2006 and the Council's existing culture change programme, the seminar gave developers, agents and planning officials a valuable opportunity to share experience and learn from each other.
During the half day event, participants identified a variety of ways in which they thought the development process could be improved. These ideas were then used to create a formal action plan which is now being taken forward jointly by the Council and its private sector partners. The full action plan can be downloaded here and a summary of the day's events can be found on pg 14-15 of the current issue. |
